A Brief About The Electrical Steel

Materials of high quality are required for modern technology. Lulutechcn specializes in laser laminated and stamped metals that make a better world. Due to the unique properties of electrical steel and Crgo Silicon Steel, our products have been use in aerospace, industrial, and medical devices, as well as in power motors and transformers. But, in what ways are electrical steel’s qualities limited? Laminated Silicon Steel plays an important role in our daily lives, as shown in the following facts.

The process of creating electrical steel

Steel is usually cold-rolled into thin strips to produce electrical steel, then stacke into laminations. Laser cutting or punching can be done on these laminations to form the correct shape. With up to 6.5% silicon added to the chemical makeup of electrical steel, the steel can retain electrical energy and has high magnetic permeability. Therefore, by annealing electric steel, it becomes softer and more flexible. Non-oriented electrical steel also requires no annealing because it contains a lower amount of silicon but an increased amount of aluminum.

The uses of electrical Crngo steel

A strong magnetic field can be generate and maintain using electrical steel. A transformer’s core, electric motor’s stator, or generator’s parts like a steam turbine or water wheel can all use this material. Batteries for electric cars also require electrical steel with a specific chemical composition.

With lulutechcn and our talented technicians, you can rely on high-quality laminated electrical steel in various sizes and shapes. We can also create nickel and cobalt alloys for a variety of applications.

Electrical steel properties

Electrical steels are greatly improve by adding silicon to iron. These properties make electrical steels useful for generating, distributing, and consuming electricity:

The ability to support magnetic fields is enhanced by high permeability

Magnetic fields do not expand or contract as much as other fields – low magnetostriction

Reduces the eddy current component of the core loss by having a high electrical resistivity

Reduced hysteresis loss – alternating magnetizing force wastes less heat as a result of reduced hysteresis loss

Electrical steel production

Continuous casting or oxygen furnace melting are common methods for making electrical steels. They are then hot rolle after passing through the annealing and descaling process line to remove dirt and scale. Cold reduction reduces and corrects the thickness of the steel based on the end-user’s specifications. In the following step, the steel roll is heat in a mixture of hydrogen, nitrogen, and water vapor to reduce the carbon content. In addition to removing sulphur, other contaminants are remove in this process, resulting in a less brittle product. Finally, to achieve the required magnetic properties and grain growth, grain-oriented steel coils are subject to a high-temperature coil anneal (HTCA) at around 1100°C.
